The overall objective of the project is to create a renewable energy infrastructure in rural area, which facilitates income generation, sustainable growth and delivery of social services, thus alleviating poverty. Achievement of this overall objective will contribute to:

• Poverty alleviation in rural area.
• Improvement of environmental management at local and national level.
• Strengthening of institutional capacities of public agencies and encouragement of policy reform.
• Creation of business and entrepreneur facilities that rely on energy.
• Improvement of security of energy supply in selected remote districts of Nepal.
• Implementation of the Nepal Government plan of Rural Energy Supply.
